Make Your Own Garlic Mayonnaise
Garlic Mayonnaise, Simple Food But with a Lot to
Dish!
Garlic Mayonnaise is nothing but a combination of garlic and mayonnaise. It’s good garnishing
if you want a novel spread different from the usual that you’re having. You can either use a commercial mayonnaise
preparation or you can make your own. Homemade mayonnaise is easy to make. You’ll need one
medium size fresh egg; the fresher the better. The ingredients are the following: 1 teaspoon of mustard, 1 teaspoon
of refined sugar; 1 tablespoon cider vinegar or fresh lemon; a pinch of salt to taste or as desired; and a one half
cup of vegetable oil.
You mix the ingredients in a blender for approximately 30 seconds, except the oil. After thirty
seconds, you open the blender’s cover without turning it off and you pour the olive oil in small streams until the
mixture approaches the mayo consistency.
Taste the mixture. If you want a sweeter mayo add more sugar or if you want it a little bit
sour add more vinegar and run the blender again. Be careful when blending the mixture.
Over blending will make the mixture thicker. You may want to add other ingredients like
pepper and more importantly garlic powder to come out with a perfect garlic mayonnaise blend.
Add the garlic slowly and taste every few turns to determine whether you have enough
garlic.
You may also add garlic to the mixture according to the amount you’re going to need
for the moment. This way you have a choice later if you want to use it with or without mayonnaise. Mayonnaise
is a health food. It’s full of good cholesterol (low density lipoprotein or LDL) which is effective in
sweeping away the plaques sticking to the walls of the blood vessels, courtesy of blood cholesterol (high
density lipoprotein or HDL).
